Can I go to a different Land (federal state) once I arrive in Germany?
No, as a rule that is not possible. In the first three years after first being granted a residence permit, you must remain in the Land you were allocated to on arrival in Germany. In particular, this is important for fostering long-term integration. Exceptions to this residence rule are possible under certain conditions.
